It is the mission of the Funeral Ministry to provide compassionate hands-on support to grieving family members who have recently lost a loved one to death.  We seek to encompass the 7th corporal work of mercy by attending funerals and assisting family members with funeral receptions held at Sacred Heart Church. We also send cards and grief material so that families who have suffered the loss of a loved one know that they are not alone and are in the prayers of others in the faith community.   

There is much to arrange after the loss of a loved one.  Part of the Funeral Ministry’s passion is to coordinate the reception so that the family doesn’t have to.

Members have a variety of ways to be involved in the ministry which include:

•  Attending funerals                                                                          
• Assisting with catering receptions in Founder’s Hall
• Baking for receptions held at Founder’s Hall
• Mailing cards to family members
• Praying with the sick

We thank you for the gift of our loved one and we ask your protection and guidance upon their soul.

We pray that they will one day share in your heavenly kingdom and that we will one day be reunited with those who have gone before us.

Embrace us with your heavenly light and be our source of comfort and strength for we know that it is through your graces that we will endure.
