Children in grades preschool through six meet on Sunday mornings from 9:00 until 10:30, from September through May. The Faith and Life series, used in first through eighth grade, focuses on basic doctrine, emphasizing the Sacramental life of the Church. A two year preparation is required for reception of First Penance and First Communion.
The Young Disciples, a combined group of youth from both Sacred Heart and St. Anthony's in grades seven through twelve, meet on Sunday evenings from 6:30 till 8:00 pm. High school students use the Didache series beginning with an in depth study of Catholicism followed by Scripture, Church History and Morality. The two year preparation for Confirmation begins prior to entrance into the ninth grade. The Youth have many opportunities for social and sevice activity; meetings take place prior to class time. An opportunity for detailed study of the lives of the saints and apologetics are offered for serious minded high school students in the Dead Theologians Society which meets twice each month during the school year and monthly in summer.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process of prayer, study and discernment for those seeking either Baptism or Full Communion with the Catholic Church, however, all are welcome to attend, Catholics and non-Catholics.
